I hope you guys are doing great and having a craftastic summer. I’m working hard on my Christmas projects and preparing for the pre-order for the Holiday Catalog. But more than that I’m so excited about the Stampin’ Up! Bonus Days.
I know what you’re thinking. $50?, I can’t do a project for $50! Well, I’m so glad you asked that question. You can! Let me show you projects that you can create with a $50 order. Some do assume you have some things in stock already but if you don’t and you must add to your order the good news is that for every $50 you spend you receive the $5 coupon to redeem in August. If you use this month’s host code and your order totals $50 or more you will also receive free the Clear Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush from me, VK9Z4ME2. Everyone can use some Wink of Stella!
Project #1: Moon Baby Cards
I will show you a sample order that will provide you with the essentials to complete these cards.
It may be hard to see the above screen shot of the Stampin’ Up! shopping cart. This order does assume a few things. First it assumes you have Very Vanilla Thick Card stock or something similar in your stash. It also assumes you have a yellow ink or a Daffodil Delight Ink Pad as well as a black. I used my snips to fussy cut the baby on the moon and the stars. I used ribbon from my stash as well as metallic gold thread to “sew” the string holding the star. I used the blender pens to pick up the inks from Blushing Bride and Soft Sky Ink Pads and color the baby, moon and stars. Keep adding color to darken areas of shadow and leave light colors of highlight.
I enjoyed making these cards. But don’t stop there scrapping with this set and paper is super fun and easy!
Stay tuned for more projects you can create using only $50 of product. If you don’t have what you need in your stash go ahead and add it because you can enjoy more coupons for every $50.
If you have any questions about a project you are wanting to complete ask me. I’m happy to help.
I had convinced myself that I wasn’t going to like the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and coordinating thinlit dies but I was wrong. I do love the way this stamp set lends itself to a beautiful natural presence. It can be as elegant as you want it to be or as rustic as you need it to be. I love it!
The measurements are standard for this card, 5 1/2 inch by 4 1/4 inch for the base. The panel that I distressed is 5 3/8 inch by 4 1/8 which creates a beautiful frame for the top panel but gives you plenty of space to create your work of art. The banners are subject to your taste but the Whisper White one with the sentiment is 3 3/4 inch by 1 inch. The basic black banner is 3 7/8 inch by 1 1/8. Remember that you may need to make each longer so that when you cut the banner tail with the Triple Banner Punch you aren’t taking too much. The top Whisper White banner is approximately 3/4 inch by 3 inches.
What I hope to cultivate with my blog, tutorials and videos is an atmosphere of inspiration. I would love for you to share cards that you have made as well. I hope that you use my creations as a springboard for your own.
I’ve included a list of supplies that I’ve used below. I would love for you to shop with me and support my craft habit (haha) as well as my ability to continue to inspire you.
Flourishing Phrases has been my work horse stamp set. I reach for it each time I need to quickly make a sympathy, thank you or congratulations card and let someone know that I’m thinking of them. I really think this is an all time classic.
I had yet to create a set of cards with the same design but with all five of Stampin’ Up!’s In Colors, until now. I knew I wanted to use all five colors but I also knew I wanted to add some metallics as well. So I pulled out my metallics and had a blast. I’ve paired copper, gold and silver with colors that I thought complimented each In Color. I added Copper to Fresh Fig and Berry Burst. Gold was an easy marry for Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist. Powder Pink and Silver is probably my all time favorite color and metallic pairing. I love, love, love the way these cards turned out. I hope you do as well.
The card base is cut from a sheet of 8 1/2″ by 11″ Thick Whisper White card stock. I cut the full sheet in half along the 11″ side at 5 1/2″ and then scored 8 1/2″ length at 4 1/4″. I Cut the Silver Foil Card Stock at 3 3/4″ by 5 1/2″, the Powder Pink Card Stock at 3 1/2″ by 5 1/2″ and the top panel Whisper White Card Stock at 3 1/4″ by 5 1/2″. Those are the measurements as I explained in the video.
Tell me what In Color you like the best and if you had your pick which metallic would you pair it with.

Welcome back! Today is Simply Sunday and today’s project is featuring old and new products that Stampin’ Up! offers. I’ve got a video for this Sunday’s card project, I hope you enjoy it.
This card uses the new Thick Very Vanilla card stock as the base. I cut an 8 1/2″ by 11″ sheet of Thick Very Vanilla card stock in half to get an 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″. Then I scored this at 4 1/4″, at the half way point of the 8 1/2″ side. This created the base. (Please know that I always want to include the very basic instructions just in case someone who has never created a card from scratch stumbles on this post.)
The Sahara Sand card stock was a scratch piece I had and I cut it at 5 1/4″ by 4″. The Falling In Love Designer Series Paper was one that Stampin’ Up! retired from the Occasions Catalog, it sold out quick. I love it and I’m winding down my stash by creating cards that are fun and easy. This was also a scrap piece that I cut down to 5 1/8″ by 3 7/8″ being careful to ensure that the design is directionaly (I think I just made up a word! LOL) correct. Some Designer Series Papers are design with a top and bottom, or a direction so be careful and ensure you are cutting it correctly for what you want.
Okay, so you can see the remaining instructions in the video but know that I’m always available if you have questions so just ask.
